Drinking Sugary Beverages May Increase Pancreatic Cancer Risk

A recent article on the website, FoodConsumer.org has drawn attention to another study published in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention that once again links consumption of sugar sweetened beverages to a higher risk of pancreatic cancer.

The study, published in November 2011, found that both men and women who drank greater than 8 or 9 ounces of sugar-sweetened beverages increased their pancreatic cancer risk by 19 percent compared to those who did not consume any sugary drinks. The study was based on 2,185 pancreatic cancer cases identified among 853,894 men and women.

As the body of evidence on the negative health impact of soda and other sweetened drinks grows, it’s more important than ever to choose healthy beverage alternatives. Syfo Original Seltzer and Naturally Flavored Sparkling Waters are made with 100% purified water and contain no sugar, sodium, artificial sweeteners, preservatives or other additives, so they’re the perfect choice to stay refreshed, hydrated and healthy.
